I’ll be blogging in a few new places for the time being:
diariumcollective.com (a new collaboration with Kate) and
exquisitemistake.net (for the CalArts school of Theater’s development of The Portrait of a Lady)
Enjoy!

Monday night’s tribute to Merce Cunningham (with a beautiful photo of Lucinda’s dancers!) on the front page of today’s Arts section.
I took myself to see the new Complicite show at the Lincoln Center Festival this weekend. At about ten til eight, I stood in the second floor foyer looking out through the tall windows and thought how Lincoln Center is on my short list of places that guarantee a purity of emotion and reaction. No matter when I go or under what context, it’s always the same feeling of greatness, closely-held ambition and a distinctly vintage glamour.
Everyone is going a little crazy from the heat, angry-crazy or emotional-crazy or just slightly wilted and unhinged. My apartment is full of boxes (mine for California, Kate’s for Brooklyn) and a stack of things I’m leaving for her- an old trunk, jeans, a sweater I’ve never worn, a pair of winter boots I’ll have no reason to wear, my VHS of Return to Oz, a dictionary, empty storage containers, and a polaroid of her at a New Year’s party holding two bottles of cheap champagne.
